THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS ONLY OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO ARE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OLD AS OF THE DATE OF ENTRY AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED AND EVALUATED ACCORDINGLY TO THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES. THIS SWEEPSTAKES IS VOID OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES AND IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.
By entering this sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”), entrants fully and unconditionally accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Any violation of these rules may result in disqualification. All decisions of the sponsor regarding these Sweepstakes are final and binding in all respects.
1. SPONSOR/PROMOTER: The ParentHandbook.com “Win it!” sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored and promoted by Sandvik Publishing Interactive, Inc. (“Sponsor”), with a corporate address of 19 South Drive in Yardley, PA 19067 and operating its business and the Website from 103 Mill Plain Road in Danbury, CT 06811.
2. SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 am EST on February 1, 2010 and ends at 5:00 pm EST on December 31, 2010 (the “Sweepstakes Period”) and will consist of eleven separate drawings applicable to eleven separate Sweepstake Entry Periods within this Sweepstakes Period. All times in the Sweepstakes refer to United States Eastern Standard Time (“EST”).
3. ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open only to permanent, legal U.S. residents physically residing in the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia (excluding Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands and all other U.S. territories) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older and have reached the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of entry. Officers, directors, agents and employees of Sponsor, and its respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (parent, child, spouse, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and/or those living in the same household of each, whether or not related, are not eligible to participate in or win the Sweepstakes. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited regardless of whether an entrant is otherwise eligible. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s and Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
4. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT: NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING THIS SWEEPSTAKES.
5. SWEEPSTAKES MONTHLY DRAWINGS: This Sweepstakes consists of eleven (11) drawings to be conducted consecutively in monthly intervals (“Monthly Drawings”) during the eleven (11) months comprising the Sweepstakes Period. Each Monthly Drawing will consist of: (i) a promotion period (a “Monthly Entry Period”) that will begin at 12:00 am on the first day of each month (each a “Monthly Entry Period Start Time”) and will end on the last day of each Month at 5:00 pm, except for the last Monthly Entry Period which will end at 5:00pm on December 25, 2010 (each a “Monthly Entry Period End Time”) as detailed in the chart below; and (ii) a random drawing (a “Monthly Prize Drawing”) conducted on the monthly drawing date (“Monthly Drawing Date”) specified in the chart below from among all eligible entries received during the applicable Monthly Entry Period for such drawing. You must enter each monthly drawing during its applicable Monthly Entry Period separately to participate in such monthly drawing. The number of possible Winners and the prize values for each monthly contest drawing will be posted no later than the Monthly Entry Period Start Time for entering such Monthly Drawing and will be posted on the Win it! entry page. It is anticipated that between one (1) and ten (10) winners will be selected in each month of the Sweepstakes Period for a total of between fifty-five (55) and one-hundred-ten (110) Monthly Winners throughout the entire Sweepstakes Period. Entries for each Monthly Drawing will be accepted ONLY after the Monthly Entry Period Start Time, when the number and value of the applicable Monthly Drawing Prizes are posted, and must be submitted before the Monthly Entry Period End Time for the particular Monthly Drawing as specified in the chart below.

6. HOW TO ENTER: Your entry into this Sweepstakes does not mean that you have or that you will win any Monthly Prize. To enter this Sweepstakes, go to http://www.parenthandbook.com (the “Website”), complete the official entry form and follow the provided instructions. You must enter each Monthly Drawing separately, by completing and submitting the official entry form during the applicable Monthly Entry Period for that Monthly Drawing. Your entry will only apply to the Monthly Drawing that applies to the Monthly Entry Period during which your entry was submitted. Entries received during a Monthly Entry Period will be entries only for that Monthly Drawing and will not be deemed a valid eligible entry in any of the other Monthly Drawings. LIMIT ONE (1) ENTRY PER PERSON/E-MAIL ADDRESS, PER MONTHLY ENTRY PERIOD. Entries from the same person or e-mail address in excess of one (1) per Entry Period will be disqualified. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated means are void. Entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, garbled, corrupted or unintelligible for any reason, including, but not limited to, computer or network malfunction or congestion, are void and will not be accepted. Normal time, toll, connection and usage rates, if any, charged by your Internet service provider will apply. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use entrant’s name, city, state, likeness, image and/or voice in any and all media now or hereafter known throughout the world in perpetuity for purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional notification, permission, approval or compensation. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. “Authorized account holder” of an e-mail address is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
7. ODDS OF WINNING: The odds of winning any of the Monthly Drawings depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the applicable Monthly Entry Period for the applicable Monthly Drawing.
8. RANDOM DRAWING/WINNER NOTIFICATION: Monthly winners (each a “Monthly Winner”) (i.e., between one [1] and ten [10] per Monthly Entry Period as specified before each Monthly Entry Period for each month on the Win it! entry page) will be randomly selected in a random drawing on or about the “Monthly Drawing Date” for that particular Monthly Drawing as specified in the chart above from among all eligible entries received during the corresponding Monthly Entry Period by employees or representatives of Sponsor, whose decisions are final and binding with respect to all matters related to the Sweepstakes. Sponsor will make two (2) attempts to contact each potential winner at the phone number, e-mail address and/or postal address provided at time of entry. If Sponsor is unable to reach a potential winner via phone, e-mail or mail after two (2) attempts, the potential winner will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner may be randomly selected in a random drawing from among the remaining eligible entries for that Monthly Drawing. Potential winners will be required to complete, sign, have notarized and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release (“Affidavit and Release”) within ten (10) days of date of Sponsor’s notification to potential winner that its entry was randomly drawn. Noncompliance within this time period, with these Official Rules or the return of or inability to deliver any prize/prize notification/prize correspondence may result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, and time permitting, an alternate potential winner may be selected in a random drawing from among the remaining eligible entries (as applicable).
9. PRIZE DESCRIPTIONS: The prize items, number of prizes and approximate retail value of prizes will vary for each Monthly Drawing but will be posted for each Monthly Drawing, in all events, in advance of the applicable Sweepstakes Monthly Entry Period for such Monthly Drawing on the Win it! entry page. Items in the prize will vary and will be designated by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of each Monthly Prize will in all events be no less than five dollars ($5) each. Each Monthly Winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes associated with their own receipt of any prize under this Sweepstakes. No transfer, substitution or cash redemption will be awarded in lieu of stated prize except by Sponsor who reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value, at its sole discretion. Items in Prize will be awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. If any Monthly Prize is unclaimed within a reasonable time after notification from Sponsor, it will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternative potential Monthly Winner selected in a random drawing at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
10. CONSENT & RELEASE: EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED, BY ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, EACH ENTRANT, FOR ENTRANT AND ENTRANT’S HEIRS, ADMINISTRATORS, EXECUTORS AND ASSIGNS HEREBY RELEASE, DISCHARGE AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS THE SPONSOR, THE ADMINISTRATOR, (FOR TEXAS RESIDENTS ONLY, THE TEXAS OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND TOURISM), AND ANY OTHER PARTY ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OR ADMINISTRATION OF THIS SWEEPSTAKES, THEIR PARENT, SUBSIDIARY, AND AFFILIATED ENTITIES, AND EACH OF THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, MEMBERS, SHAREHOLDERS, EMPLOYEES, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS (COLLECTIVELY, THE “SPONSOR ENTITIES” OR “RELEASED PARTIES”), FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL LIABILITY WHATSOEVER IN CONNECTION WITH THIS SWEEPSTAKES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LEGAL CLAIMS, COSTS, INJURIES, LOSSES OR DAMAGES, DEMANDS OR ACTIONS OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION PERSONAL INJURIES, DEATH, DAMAGE TO, LOSS OR DESTRUCTION OF PERSONS OR PROPERTY, RIGHTS OF PUBLICITY OR PRIVACY, DEFAMATION, OR PORTRAYAL IN A FALSE LIGHT) ARISING OUT OF IN WHOLE OR IN PART, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, PARTICIPATION IN THE SWEEPSTAKES OR RECEIPT OR USE, NONUSE OR MISUSE OF A PRIZE (COLLECTIVELY, “CLAIMS”) and consents to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Except where prohibited: (i) acceptance of a prize constitutes the consent of any winner, without further compensation, for the Sponsor to use the name, image, likeness, photograph, voice opinions and/or location and state of such winner for editorial, advertising, promotional and publicity purposes in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity without further payment, consideration, permission, notification or approval, and upon request, to the giving of consent in writing, to such use; (ii) acceptance of a prize constitutes a release by any winner of the Sponsor Entities of any and all Claims in connection with the administration of this Sweepstakes and the use, misuse, or possession of any prize; and (iii) any potential winner may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility (including social security number) and a liability/publicity release. Affidavits and releases must be returned within ten (10) days from the date that Sponsor first tries to notify the potential winner. If winner is deemed to be a minor under the jurisdiction of his/her residence, the potential winner shall be disqualified.
11. OTHER SWEEPSTAKE RULES AND DISCLAIMERS: The Released Parties shall not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, stolen, damaged, inaccurate, illegible, misdirected, garbled, delayed or undelivered entries; or for technical hardware or software malfunctions or failures of any kind, lost, unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission, which may limit an individual's ability to participate. Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Released Parties are not responsible for any technical, mechanical, printing, typographical, human or other error or any kind relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prize or in any Sweepstakes-related materials; or for any liability for damage to any computer system resulting from participating in, or accessing or downloading information in connection with this Sweepstakes. If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of being run or implemented as planned, including, but not limited to, as the result of infection by computer viruses or bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or any other cause of any kind, which, in Sponsor's sole judgment, is likely to or actually corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, then Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend all or any part of the Sweepstakes or to disqualify any implicated entrant(s) (and their entries), and any prize may not be awarded; except that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to award the prize(s) in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received by Sponsor up until the time of the event warranting such cancellation, termination, modification or suspension, as applicable. Any changes to the Sweepstakes and/or these Official Rules will be posted at the Website. Sponsor may prohibit any entrant or potential entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes, if such entrant or potential entrant shows a disregard for these Official Rules; acts with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other entrant, Sponsor, or Sponsor’s agents or representatives; or behaves in any other disruptive manner (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion).

13. NO WARRANTIES: SPONSOR ENTITIES MAKE NO WARRANTIES, REPRESENTATIONS OR GUARANTEES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, AS REGARDS THIS SWEEPSTAKES OR THE MERCHANTABILITY, QUALITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE REGARDING ANY PRIZE OR ANY COMPONENT OF ANY PRIZE.
14. GOVERNING LAW: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any participant, Sponsor or the Released Parties in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions which would cause the application or the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Connecticut. If any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes, the Official Rules, or the breach of any term hereof, cannot be otherwise resolved, it shall be resolved by binding arbitration conducted in the County of Fairfield in the State of Connecticut, and administered by Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services (“JAMS”) in accordance with its Streamlined Arbitration Rules and Procedures or subsequent versions thereof (the “JAMS Rules”). The JAMS Rules for selection of an arbitrator shall be followed, except that the arbitrator shall be an experienced arbitrator licensed to practice law in Connecticut. The decision of the arbitrator shall be binding, final and conclusive and shall not be appealable to any court. The remedy for any claim shall be limited to actual damages, and in no event shall any party be entitled to recover punitive, exemplary, consequential, or incidental damages, including attorney’s fees or other such related costs of bringing a claim, or to rescind this agreement or seek injunctive or any other equitable relief.
15. PRIVACY: Except as specifically provided in these Official Rules, all information supplied by entrants will be shared by Sponsor in accordance with its privacy policy, posted at http://www.parenthandbook.com/about-us/privacy-policy/. Winners’ names and contact information will also be shared by Sponsor in order to contact winners for the purpose of fulfillment of prizes.
16. PLEASE NOTE THAT A HIGH VOLUME OF ENTRIES ONLINE OR TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH THE SYSTEM MAY RESULT IN TEMPORARY INABILITY TO ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES OR A DELAY IN THE PROCESSING OF ENTRIES SUCH THAT YOUR ENTRY IS NOT RECEIVED IN TIME TO PARTICIPATE. SPONSOR/SPONSOR’S REPRESENTATIVES ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE SHOULD ANY ENTRY NOT BE RECEIVED DUE TO SUCH DELAYS.
