Scared about delivery

Lee 11/12/2009

Question:
Is it normal that in the last few weeks I've been having nightmares about something going wrong during delivery (I'm 32 weeks)?

Answer:
When I was pregnant I dreamt I was giving birth to a chicken. I couldn't imagine that I could possibly create such a thing of beauty as a baby. It is a frightening and uncertain time. With all these stresses, it is no wonder you are having nightmares. Just remember that childbirth is a natural event that has occurred for centuries and your doctors know what they are doing.

Try and focus more on your relationship with your husband in the last few weeks and visualize how beautiful your baby is going to be. Don't put so much emphasis on the actual labor process, because 10 years from now, you will barely remember the details, just that you and your family are healthy and happy.
