When to Start Baby Food

Jessica 03/11/2011

Question:

When can I start offering jarred baby food to my 2-month-old?

Jars of Baby Food

Answer:

Dr. Deirdre Bernard-Pearl responds:

You can usually start at 4 to 6 months, as long as your baby can hold her head up well and shows interest in food. Jars are OK, but fresh baby foods are even better. Mashed avocado makes a great first food. Have fun!
