Baby:
Your baby is now about the size of an ice cream cone.
Although she isn’t yet following any clear sleep patterns, your baby has started to indulge in naps. Some babies demonstrate a clear favorite position for snoozing.
If you’re having a girl, her uterus and vagina finish developing this week. Pretty amazing – that the little person who’s in your uterus has a uterus of her own!
And regardless of whether it’s a boy or a girl, your baby is now growing eyebrows.
Mom:
Some moms feel the first noticeable kick this week, while others have to wait another week or two. But pretty soon, your baby will be sending you daily messages in the form of kicks and movement. Sometimes it may feel like she’s throwing a dance party in there!
If you haven’t already, you may want to start thinking about which pediatrician you would like to use for your child. It’s a good idea to ask for advice from friends who have kids and arrange some interviews or attend informational sessions for prospective parents.
Just remember that pediatricians have busy practices and a one-on-one interview isn’t always possible. A strong recommendation from a good friend who has a child is usually the best approach.
