Baby:

Week 27Your baby is now about the length of a football.

In baby’s brain, the synapses, which are the connections between nerve endings, are forming, and those characteristic folds on the surface of the brain, known as gyri, are starting to appear. Baby now reacts to light from the outside world and may even reach out for the light or follow it with her eyes. At this point, baby has about 300 bones.

During the next month or so, the baby will be growing and putting on weight rapidly.

Mom:
One of those questions that invariably comes up during pregnancy is: What about sex?

There’s no reason to avoid sex while you’re pregnant, unless your doctor or practitioner has specifically advised against it. Making love can increase the intimacy between you and your partner — plus, it’s a great way to strengthen your pelvic floor for labor!
